At Meadowbrook Christian Church you are welcome to Come As You Are. When Jesus called his disciple Matthew, Matthew threw a great party in Jesus' honor. Some of the more "religious" people in attendance began to question Jesus associating with some of the guests in attendance because they were not of an equal class, they had issues, or problems which they dealt with in their every day lives. Jesus' response was that he came not for those who viewed themselves as righteous and pious but that He came for those of us who knew we had things in our lives that just aren't quite right.
At Meadowbrook we believe that church is not for perfect people. Everyone has imperfections. That is the way God made us. As long as we as people are striving to love God and care for one another then we are living lives that are pleasing to God. Perfection is more a process of striving than a state to be attained. One's perfection is measured not by success in attaining a measurable goal but in attitudes constantly changing to ever more perfectly reflect the image of Christ.
